Course Overview
Transform adolescent learners from passive readers into powerful thinkers. This one-day summit is dedicated to the unique art of secondary literacy, focusing on the "staircase of complexity" within the Ohio 6β8 ELA standards and practical, high-leverage strategies that foster true student independence. The morning features choice-based breakout sessions led by literacy experts, followed by an afternoon "Intervention & Support Lab." During the lab, participants will collaborate directly with educational partners to explore evidence-based programs designed specifically for the cognitive and social needs of older readers who require support beyond foundational phonics.
